Yin-Trance is a gentle somatic journey guiding you into connection with your deep self—the part of you that exists beyond the ever-changing and sometimes tumultuous landscape of your inner world. 

Imagine descending to rest at the bottom of the ocean. There, you might discover a quiet place, where there is a sense of timelessness and peaceful stillness. In a world that is constantly in motion, it is easy to get swept up in the currents of life or pulled away from your center. Having an internal anchor, a place of connection you can always return to within yourself regardless of external conditions is a state of being truly worth cultivating. 

This journey is for you if perhaps you experience some form of anxiety or unease, worry about the future or revisiting the past. Perhaps it is challenging to be with yourself fully in the present moment. This journey is for you if you are simply desiring to cultivate a deeper connection with yourself.

This is a journey into the body, one that asks for you to embrace the mystery. It may be experienced both as activating and/or deeply restful. You may experience altered states of consciousness and meet different layers of your physical, mental, emotional and energetic bodies. Your journey will be personal and unique to you.

FAQs

  • 90 minutes

  • A personal blanket (optional) and a water bottle. All other props will be provided. Wear comfortable clothes you can move freely in (yoga attire etc).

  • Absolutely! No previous yoga experience is required. Yin involves simple poses that are held in supported positions for a longer duration of time, anywhere from 3-10 minutes. This is to promote deep myofascial release and nervous system relaxation.

  • Yes! Modifications are available for all yin poses. Please let me know in advance via the contact form below.

  • Embodiment can be described as the practice of inhabiting the physical body with conscious awareness. It is an intentional bridging of the mind-body connection. The purpose is to expand your internal awareness of your felt-experience including the experience of physical sensation, emotion and energy. It is through your embodiment that you open pathways to deeper connection with yourself. This naturally changes the quality of your relationships to others and also to life itself. Embodiment is what allows you to take in the experience of your life more fully.
